To buy or not to buy...

Scott and I have talking in length about whether or not we should buy a house sooner rather than later. I thought later, he thought sooner. In the end, we decided that we should absolutely take advantage of the $8,000 tax credit for 1st time homebuyers. With this credit, we only had to close before 12/1. No problem...we could easily do that.

Now fast forward to today. Somehow, and I really don't know how it happened so fast, we managed to find a good deal on a house in Katy, get pre-approved for a loan, put in an offer, pay for inspections, and now we are awaiting a closing date on our very first home. I cannot even believe everything happened so fast. And by fast I truly mean I had no intentions of buying a house before the Fall. Fast in this instance does not mean anything to do with loan conditions, contract signatures, and basically promising your first born to everyone.

I'm told that it is a long process, very slow, and completely dependent on too many factors to GUESS on when things will wrap up. I think my patience is being tested and so far I'm failing. I'll keep you posted.
